Nora Mead Brownell
Nora Mead Brownell co-founded ESPY Energy Solutions, an independent energy consulting firm that consults with industry and government officials on the restructuring of energy markets and the creation of independent regulatory commissions.
Earlier, Ms. Brownell served as a Commissioner of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) from 2001 until 2006, a position to which she was nominated by the President. In this role, Ms. Brownell was a strong proponent of FERC policies that promote investment in national energy infrastructure development.
Prior to FERC, Ms. Brownell served as a member of the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (PUC) where she took an active role in the rollout of electric choice in Pennsylvania.
Prior to her appointment to the Pennsylvania Commission, she was Executive Director of the Regional Performing Arts Center in Philadelphia, a $200 million arts and economic development initiative. Additionally, she previously served as the Senior Vice President for Meridian Bancorp, Inc.’s Corporate Affairs Unit.
Ms. Brownell founded BC Consulting, an energy consulting firm.
Ms. Brownell serves on the boards of Comverge, Spectra Energy Partners (NYSE:SEP), Times Publishing Company, Tangent Energy Solutions and National Grid, PLC (NYSE:NGG).
